The story behind this kissing capybaras illustration

When I drew these capybaras, I was thinking about quiet connection.

Capybaras have a peaceful way of being together — close, calm and completely at ease.

I imagined them sharing a small moment of affection, like a gentle kiss exchanged without urgency, as if the world had slowed down around them.

While drawing them, I wanted to capture that feeling of simple companionship — a quiet presence that brings warmth the moment you notice it.

The symbolism of capybaras: gentleness, harmony and togetherness

Capybaras are often called the Zen masters of the animal kingdom.

Famous for their calm nature, they seem able to coexist peacefully with almost everyone — ducks, monkeys, even alligators.

Their secret is simple: harmony.

With their peaceful expressions and rounded silhouettes, these two capybaras remind us that love does not need to be loud.

Print on Paper

This option is an ink jet impression of my original charcoal drawing on a fine textured paper that looks and feel like a professional paper used by watercolourist.

The image do not fade to sunlight.

It will need a frame to hang it on your wall if you choose only paper.

It will come framed and ready to hang if you add a FRAME in the order.

Print on Assembled Canvas

Discreet and solid frame made of lime wood, on which a 100% polyester and moisture resistant canvas is hand mounted. In addition, we install a wire at the back to hang the canvas easily on the wall.

This option is ready to be installed upon receipt!

Fast delivery and easy returns

Delivery times vary from 4 to 7 working days for regular format paper artworks (greeting cards, 8x10 and 12x18) and from 10 to 14 working days for larger formats and all canvases. Returns or exchanges on all products are accepted up to 30 days after receipt of parcel.

Ready-to-hang options

The canvases are mounted on a sturdy wooden support, with a Nordic pine frame. We install a wire at the back and add a small kit of nails and hooks to facilitate installation.

About the artist

Born near a zoo, I have been observing animal behavior since my early childhood. The poses and attitudes of hundreds of animals are therefore imprinted in my memory. To complete my inspirations, I create collages of animal photographs and I collaborate with Canadian photographers who share their pictures with me. My work then becomes the sum of their time spent behind the camera, rain or shine, plus my hours interpreting the beauty of nature.
